CANDY

I've been such a slacker for not posting something interesting haha, was gonna have a post about my temp job 2 weeks ago and here you goooo! I worked with Max Clark for a BBC See short film called CANDY. Directed by Kinga Burza and inspired by Kevin Brook's novel Candy. The film was all about teenage, first love and (a fair amount) of sex element involved. I'm not gonna go on too much about the details since I'm evil and want to keep you guys excited ahah. The plot itself was great and of course the cast. Ella who was Candy was such a sweetheart, Ben as Joe was a promising great actor (and nvr let you notice he is 24 ahah) and I met Luke stars Iggy in the film, who's a graduate of St. Martins and we went on about days at Back Hill. It was really fun experience and it kind of surprises me making films brings me perhaps even more joy than watching one. I was really grateful to be part of such enthusiastic team. I'm sure its gonna be beneficial not just in terms of my CV but to me its a new way to see something I would be stupid to miss.

CANDY will be out in April at BBC See channel.

p.s. righttt I know I'm massively late but I just never feel like joining the crowd reporting about fashinon weeks, but before Paris Fashion Week finishes I'm sure I will be able to have some published, so stay tuned :)!

Afri-Cola commercial 1968 (with subtitles)

Beginning of the hippie era, steamy, sexy, saucy, with quite a cinematic arrangement, I'm in love with this.

A week's worth of inspirations

“Fashion cannot make you sexy. Experience makes you sexy. Imagination makes people sexy. You have to train yourself, you have to study, and you have to live your life.”

- Yohji Yamamoto

I'm spellbound by these this week.

Brogueloving

From top left: Topshop brown brogues, Topshop two tone brogues, vintage black brogues. Vintage stone woven lace ups, Deena & Ozzy 2 tone lace ups and black patent sling back lace ups. Comme des Garçons for Repetto white fluffy lace ups.

Its been quite a century since I got myself first pair of brogues. I still remember how thrilled I was when I put them on. My first pair of brogues weren't particularly well made, nor did they cost me a fortune but I felt sort of special and empowered with them on. Brogues and lace ups are always my favourite kinds of shoes. Heels don't always make my heart race as often as seeing a beautiful pairs of brogues. These traditional English shoes have heritage and timeless style, which is one of a few classic fashion items that I'm truly in love with.
Whilst still lusting after those Church's studded and toungued brogues and what-the-hell-won't-you-just-be-in-love-with-those-Prada-brogues (Ok it might have gone too far name-wise), these shoes have been with me trotting through perhaps a few cross-continent distance, with this they deserves everything, not only some shelf space, but a lot of my love.

p.s. too many posts to go! Promise will try to have them all published asap!

Atlantic dream

Nail paint by Barry M in pale yellow and metallic navy blue

I've always been fond of a yellow and blue combo but never picture myself in this combination. I've just been experimenting some techniques which I knew since I was 14 but sorta abandoned it when it turned out shit after my first few attempts. Now then I'm pretty in love with this. Not only because its quite a new combintion that I found I can pull off, but also it kinda reminds me of McQueen's SS10 Plato's Atlantic collection, and of course, the Proenza Schouler SS11 RTW collecction. As NY fashion week hitting town and Paris fashion week coming after London fashion week, I can't wait to see what's gonna blow me away. With this humid weather and these nails, Spring's here.

p.s. I'm gonna to write about my (temp)job for BBC this weekend, so stay tuned!
