As soon as we go a little more loaded, first thing came up onto our minds was, some more leather!! As always its been a great little trip despite I've accumulated piles and piles of leather at home whilst Im moving. We came across a hair product shop and I just went pretty mad when I saw stacks and stacks of hair colour and bleach and of course hair extensions in every colour, which means other than cycling on some lazy sunny days I'll be in my own little factory, will keep you all posted when anything comes up haha, hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine! X
Soo I kept my promise (in case anyone is anticipating it), I did manage to raise enough fund to get myself a really nice birthday present (so as celebrating Cannabis day, which I didn't realize until the end of the day). Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes and I can't wait a little celebration during the long weekend :)! P.S I'm about to open myself a tumblr since arranging pictures that inspire me is kind of a pain and tumblr is such a great source for images, so stay tuned everyone and hope you're all having a great Easter! X
The press day marathon has got a short break since its Easter, but good things always comes to people who are willing to wait, sooo I just popped down to Matches with Claudia for their press day. Matches has always got a great selection, even I'm not a frequent visitor (just because I'm not always that loaded ahah). Considering Matches is trying to bring everything in house and moving their press office to Marylebone soon so I guess they are just gonna go bigger and bolder in the coming season!
Mad prints, AW just can't be bolder, love.
To be honest Matches isnt the most daring shop in terms of their selection I've seen (Long live Machine-A), but they do have a good eye spotting amazing but also easy-to-wear pieces, after all not everyone wants to be Gaga ehha.
Having realized I kept taking pictures of garments before knowing a lot of them are by Phillip Lim, I now cant not admit why this label is so It, everything is just so easy to pull off but so special and so now, not to mention those boots I saw in Harvey Nics, I'm an official fan of Phillip Lim.
Carven Lace is great <3
I'm still not tired of press days whilst I thought I might have been so over it after a week, maybe I'm just someone who loves wearing next season's clothes, when its winter I have an urge of wearing skimpy dresses and summer I want some fur, but who doesn't like having something to look forward to? Apart from the press day itself Matches has also very generously got me some great Raoul mini purse, how can I not like this shop? ♥ X
Thursday was quite a hectic day for everyone since there were so much press days whoopie. After my trip down to Harvey Nics I went to Holborn, where Cube PR had their press day took place. Cube stocks a range of labels, from amazing Camilla Skovgaard shoes to East London concept store 123, Cube covers edgy labels as well as quality labels that embraces the English heritage. It was such pleasant experience to have visited the press day, not to mention their amazing lunch and very generous goodie bags ekkkkee.
123 is a multi-brand concept store on Bethnal Green Road with everything covered, edgy new labels like Noki Noir as well as in house designed homeware products made out of one-of-a-kind vintage fabrics. Since I love concept stores in general and it kind of ignited my inner obsessions with florals, laces and heart shaped cushions (this is the best kept secret of me because I think I'm the last person on earth who can wear florals), I'd be delighted to pop down and have a stroll in the 4 floored new found gem on a sunny day.
Camilla Skovgaard's shoes are rather new to me, having barely seen a few pairs of shoes in the range, the new collection lured me to stop by and observed them carefully with their beautiful constructions, these shoes just have a lot of head turning potentials!
Chapman hand craft English bags, again I'm having a does of English heritage and can't help snapping their look books, just in case I won the lottery hehe.
I've seen wallets made out of paper but this label just does it even better.
Cube covers different lines from Henry Lloyd, which demonstrates the beauty of English heritage in its main line as well as a HL jeans co, featuring a comparatively laid back style. quilted trainers? Yes yes yes.
I'm still half way of my press days reviews and I've got a million other posts to go, just in case you've got nothing to do during the triple bank holidays, hope you all have had a great weekend :)! X
I liked Mary Katrantzou's printed silk dresses when she first came out but now I'm officially in love with her stuff, this dress is made of some similar material as the Cacharel jacket I came across at Village Press, it feels like the dress is the canvas and the genius has just finished her masterpiece.
Sometime you just won't understand why some designers are so popular until you see the actual garment, right Louise Gray?
These Felicity Brown are some amazing wearable sculptures.
Kirkwood ditched his signature heels into jaw dropping 7'' wedges, joining Nina Ricci, and Balenciaga for some GaGa-esque footwear family, LOVE.
I seriously am gonna save up for these Phillip Lim because they walked out from my dream!
One of the most exciting press days in town is Harvey Nichols without a doubt. I'm not a frequent visitor of department stores since I can't afford pretty much anything and I've got a little phobia against department stores. However I knew Harvey Nics' press day is not going to let me down, knowing they've got some beautiful award-winning windows which pretty much demonstrate how daring their approach to fashion, having their range stocked with labels like Felicity Brown, Mugler and Lucy in Disguise, Harvey Nic's won my heart yehh. It's amazing how they arrange the garments not by brands but by colour, style and perhaps theme? It seems winter is never just muted tones to Harvey Nics, Bright blue Jil Sander with orange Dries van Noten, mad palettes in Louise Gray, fox print dresses by We are Handsome, perhaps this is the first time I know how important having a good buyer in the store. The press day was quite a blast and definitely made my day! X
I've been waiting to have this post published but I'm still busy with press days. So yeh you see I'm now trying to be super efficient and aiming to bombard you with posts haha. I went down to Fashion East at Brick Lane for the Holly Fulton, James Long and Craig Lawrence sample sales plus private order night on Wednesday. It was amazing to see all their AW11 collection in zero distant and the designers were actually there that night! Sadly, I didn't know which part of me gone wrong I just got super duper nervous as I went in (Its just not cool to get starstruck in this situation i know). Everybody was really friendly especially James, but shame I just didnt know what to respond (guess I hadnt sleep well the night before *sob*) It's better to say itsa private order than a sample sale because basically only Holly's collection was having an actual sale. But still the collections were amazing and I was pretty much dead when I saw Craig's collection. Since I was still undergoing a painstaking save up plan for a birthday present (yes I'm getting it for myself, to celebrate I'm going old), I didn't have a lot of money for a top or a dress from Craig. However I cant help but appreciating how beautifully the collections were made (to all of them), at last I ordered a pair of Craig Lawrence's arm warmer, as shown on the last image, but specially made in black, I seriously can't wait to receiving one of Craig's AW11 piece, hopefully they will be on the blog in 2 weeks!
