Batman Returns by Tim Burton

Foxy at heart

Topshop maxi cardigan and leather look vest, vintage camel coat and cream blouse, thrifted leather jacket. (my face might have looked better if wasn't that cold eeek)

Hope every one had a lovely weekend :)

Confuse me

epic failure, they've got a zillion knots inside

was paying a visit to the Horse Hospital costume hire, and then I died.

without a doubt this is one of my fav. pieces

not to mention some original vivienne westwood

selection of clothes I brought from beyond retro and rokit for katie

won't be long until get some close ups for those Duffy rings (claws?) when Katie's back in the office eeek

As the team started to get ready for the Feb issue of Dazed, we got so, so hectic in the office but yay I got something really interesting to do. I went to Beyond Retro 3 times a week and got quite a few selections of clothes for Katie, and Im so, so thrilled to see what we got when we were packing the suitcase. I can't wait to see the editorial yaaay!
One thing that excited me at Dazed is that you got to see how much impact young designers can make. I had my jaw dropped when I saw those Duffy rings, for the sake of accuracy perhaps I should call them claws, or something that triggers you to think about Robert Dudley Jr. in X-Men (they are pretty much identical, mean it!), I will definitely get you guys a closer look at them when the team is back on Tuesday yay

Just a little treat

Red maxi cardigan, black leather look vest, white/ cream loose knit vest, leopard print short, Ashish for Topshop tee, camel/black stripe shirt, black lace dress, black lace and pleat dress, white chiffon dress, lace pocket shorts, Kate Moss for Topshop bra, purple satin and mesh bra, all From Topshop.

I've always been struggling whether I should put shopping related posts on the blog since I always want my blog to be about style rather than pure fashion (since I consider the term 'fashion' carries a time span), but I guess having a little sharing of what I bought is one of the ways to share what inspires me? *laughs* and after all I guess everybody loves fashion love shopping haha. So yeh I just had some retail therapy this weekend after a pretty long week at Dazed. (This is one of the 36735 reasons to shop). I think nobody can resist getting some cute undergarments for £2 at Topshop, and considering maths had just become the most exciting thing when it was related to fashion, I did some maths and went pretty nuts when I realized I bought this pile of £380 worth beauties for £58. Now I'm pretty ready for winter and ready for another exciting week at work.

Be Dazed

Funnily enough, these Kenzo shoes are pretty warm whilst being amazing

after Katie's shoot

me and gen were playing with Katie's amour rings, with my Erikson Beamon bangle, they made quite a gear to kill haha

First week of my placement at Dazed was exhausting but also full of excitement. Whilst having myself in the same office with all these amazing people (ok especially Katie Shillingford), I can't think of anything better than this, at least not at this moment, not to mention some adrenaline rush when I got some compliment for my spike hairband, I just feel creativity and energy all over myself.

Fashion fantasies

I was annoyed cos they used all those cheap reflective glass for the frame and they all end up got my face fully reflected *sob*

Yeep I am still trying to get everything checked on my exhibition list. This week I went to the Drawing Fashion exhibition at the Design Museum. The exhibition showcases iconic works from fashion illustrators from the 1910s to present. From Erte and Lepape to Mats Gustafson, the exhibition demonstrates the influence of fashion illustration to the industry itself. Whilst fashion illustration isn't an inevitable way to portray fashion, it captures the spirit of fashion under every fashion illustrators' hands. (and hell yeh I didnt notice how much I love René Gruau when I noticed how much I have been moved by his drawings until they all got laid out in front of me).
One thing that disappointed me a little was that apparently every piece of work was taken from a private collection, meaning we won't necessarily be able to see every influential illustrators (ie. one of my fav. illustrator David Downton). However I got pretty emotional inside when I saw how they portray fashion with the contribution of their emotions and passion. Thanks to this exhibition, I feel like I need to sharpen my pencils and get some of my wildest fantasies visualized on pieces and pieces of paper.

Drawing fashion at the Design Museum, London
open now until 6th March, 2011.

Out of the Tank and ready to be Dazed and Confused

plus some crazy Louboutins before I left the office, weeeee

My placement at Tank is officially ended with a lot of fun. I went to assist a shoot for Liberty's atLiberty magazine. The shoot went really well and I was totally blew away by the amazing hair. Alex the hair stylist told me she has a salon on Kingsland road, I will definitely pay her a visit and have my hair bleached and dyed into silver and purple (or green since I saw that hairdo). I cant put too many pictrues here until the magazine is released at the beginning of the new season so stay tuned! Having myself worked with such great team, thanks Tank for having me, now Im ready to be Dazed, to work for my favourite magazine on the planet.

Age of innocence

Vintage cream shirt, Topshop jumper, Topshop boutique pleat front skirt, vintage hat, Comme des Garcons bag, vintage necklace.

I feel old whenever i pull this pleat skirt off since I always associate pleat skirts with school girls. To me its always about feeling old to dress up like a young girl (I know my definition of 'young' might be different compared to others, laughs). A pleat skirt teamed with a beautifully trimmed collared shirt peeking through a jumper, I call this school girl chic, which is always something fascinates me and perhaps some sort of reminiscence.
With the fact that these images were taken by someone special, I guess Ive found a reason to learn how to feel young and reckless again.

million treasures in a shop

I just popped down to the pop up shop by St. Martins BA 3rd year jewellery students to meet my friend Olga for the shop's private view. Following the success of the 'Au Contraire' show this year (which was a chance where I met Olga and did an interview with her for MsX magazine), the shop is opened to showcase these future big designers work and all items are for sale. With a very limited no. of stock, these jewellery pieces are completely unique and Im loving Olga's work as usual. These piece are all around £20 and each design will only have around 20 available. The store will be open to the public from 3rd Nov to 8th Nov, be sure to pop down to the shop and give yourself a little treat.
